Seeking Artists for Harbor Village Murals!

A PAID OPPORTUNITY TO BRING ART TO DOWNTOWN GLOUCESTER
North Shore Community Development Coalition and Action Inc. have partnered together to bring new art into downtown Gloucester through The Punto Urban Art Museum (PUAM). This program was founded by North Shore CDC in Salem’s Point neighborhood to break down the invisible socio-economic barriers. We believe public art can be a tool to help integrate neighborhoods and create more resilient communities.

Through this Request for Proposals, PUAM will bring art into a new North Shore community.  Artists have the opportunity between April 12th and May 16th to apply for three murals, two interior and one exterior, at Harbor Village, a new building located at 206 Main Street in Gloucester. Harbor Village is a new mixed-use development bringing 30 affordable apartments for families into downtown. The goal for this call is to provide opportunities for local and regional artists to bring life and color into downtown Gloucester. Selected artists/teams will be a part of efforts to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Gloucester! Artists’ work will be voted on and selected by members of the Gloucester community and stakeholders of the project.

PUAM is seeking two to three New England based visual artists to install art in North Shore CDC and Action Inc.’s newest affordable housing development. The project is expected to be completed by mid summer. For more details about this Call for Art, please click this link.
