Action Inc. is taking part in a new campaign to end the stigma associated with carrying Narcan, a life-saving nasal spray that can help prevent death from an opioid overdose.
Narcan Nasal Spray, the first nasal formulation of naloxone, is FDA approved for the treatment of known or suspected opioid overdose. It is a simple, one-push nasal spray to be given right away and does not take the place of emergency medical care. NARCAN Nasal Spray is safe and effective for known or suspected opioid overdose and will not cause harm if it is administered to someone who is not suffering from an opioid overdose.
In a recent article from the Gloucester Daily Times, Action Inc. Director of Client & Housing Services Jen Beloff explains, “We are trying to encourage and get the message out there that all lives are important, and there should be no shame in seeking access to having Narcan.”
In Gloucester, Narcan can be easily accessed through local pharmacies or from One Stop Harm Reduction or Learn to Cope.
