Fishing Families
in Transition
Action has a
long history of working with Cape Ann’s fishing community.
Our Fishing Families in Transition program was
designed to relieve the economic hardships of displaced
fishermen, lobstermen, seafood workers, fish haulers and lumpers.
Thanks to a grant from Sailors' Snug Harbor, we provide
fishing family members with training, education, and
resources to learn new skills and find new jobs.
We understand the unique needs of
Gloucester’s fishing community, and we aim to help fishing families achieve
sustainable self-sufficiency during this time of
transition in their industry.
