Weatherization: If your household qualifies, an Energy Auditor will visit your home to see how we can help you stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while cutting back on heating and A/C costs. Weatherization work will be performed by qualified area contractors. Measures may include adding insulation, repairing windows, weather-stripping and more, based on need and available funding.

To qualify: If your home has not been weatherized by Action since September 30th, 1994, you may qualify.

Appliance Management: If you qualify, an Energy Auditor will review your electricity usage, offer tips on how you can cut down on your bill, and equip your home with energy-saving light bulbs. The Auditor will also meter your refrigerator, and depending on its electricity consumption, it may be replaced for FREE. Water bed mattresses may also be replaced with regular mattresses, all at no cost to you.

To qualify: If you have lived in your place of residence for at least nine months and have an active National Grid electric account in your name, you may qualify for this program.

New heating system

Heating Systems: If your heating system isn't working properly and you qualify for this program, we'll send a qualified contractor to repair or replace your system. Depending on available funding, we may also offer heating system cleanings.

To qualify: This program is typically for homeowners only. However, National Grid customers who are tenants and have approval from their landlords may also qualify.

Multi-Family Program: The programs described above are available to residents of 1-4-unit buildings. However, through National Grid's Low-Income Multi-Family Program we  also offer energy conservation services to residents of multi-family buildings with 5-25 units. Note: To qualify for our Energy Conservation programs, you must first apply for Fuel Assistance. Eligibility for Fuel Assistance does not automatically qualify you for any or all of our Energy Conservation programs.
