Compass Youth Program

Compass is an education, training, and employment program for 16-21 year olds.  We help young adults realize the power of knowledge, and start on the path toward success.

About Compass

Compass helps young people realize educational goals, develop skills for the workplace and helpful attitudes towards work, and discover their career interests. We provide students with educational alternatives and creative opportunities that reduce or eliminate barriers to learning. We specialize in creating a learning environment that is flexible and accepting of the youth culture while simultaneously encouraging students to take personal responsibility and to become proactive in their learning experiences.

At Compass, our students' primary goal is to obtain a high school diploma or GED and to enter college or full-time employment as successful young adults. Our challenge is to help students achieve their goals by discovering their learning styles, multiple forms of intelligence, and the career interests that will lead to meaningful vocational and life choices.

What We Offer

Participants in COMPASS programs have access to a variety of resources and support services. Below are some of the ways we help our students succeed.

Academic advising - We help students develop a plan for attaining a high school diploma or GED, and for continuing their education

Assessments - We help students discover their individual talents, interests, and personality styles.

Career counseling & job skills - Students learn to discover their skills and interests and develop positive attitudes toward work. We help them with resumes and cover letters, job interviewing skills, organizing job search plans, and attaining and maintaining employment. We also connect students with career mentoring, linking them to job resources and support.

Leadership development - We provide opportunities for students to develop and nurture innate leadership potential.
